Philippians 4: Concentrate on Kindness

Let your loving kindness be evident to all.
And the Peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—tell the world about such things.
And the God of peace will be with you.

Yesterday people committed random acts of senseless violence
They barely made a ripple in the news
We've gotten so used to them that we scarcely notice
If you want to change that, then concentrate on kindness
YOU can change the world through random acts of kindness
How?
Give away bottles of bubble juice or water
Hand a stranger a greeting card
Leave a note of thanks to someone who parked inside the lines
Ask your server what's their favorite--and buy one for them
Plant a tree in someone's honor
Stop by a laundromat and give away your quarters (56% of them still use coins)
Ask a senior about their life and faith journey
Share your memories with a fiend or loved one
Send an encouraging text or email
Give away a copy of your favorite inspirational book
Declare a judgment free day
Hug a friend
Buy extra at a farmer's market and give it away
Cheer someone on to their goal
Look for a reason to thank someone
Give away your favorite recipe card
Compliment a parent on how they are caring for their child
Leave positive sticky notes in random places
Pick up trash around your town
Learn a neighbor's name and ask if they have a prayer need
Leave a surprise in a library book
Donate socks or towels to a shelter
Give people a joke for the day
Leave a surprise for your mail carrier (they can't accept cash, but they can accept notes or goodies)
Give away something you made (baked goods are always nice)
Most of those suggestions cost little or nothing
But in this world where violence has become a normal part of the sound track of life, a little kindness can change the world
One person at a time

Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
