Psalm 27: I am Confident!

I remain CONFIDENT of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.

"Confidence" literally means to cast your cares upon someone.
It's like tossing your hat onto a rack, or hanging a coat on a hook.
"I don't need this anymore--please hold it for me."
We get into trouble when we want to share that job with God.
"Here, Lord! You take care of this problem!"
"But I'm going to keep carrying and worrying about it, just in case."
And God says,
"You don't need that anymore."
"Please trust me to carry it for you."
"Put your confidence in me."

Come, ev'ry soul by sin oppressed-
There's mercy with the Lord,
And He will surely give you rest
By trusting in His word.
Only trust Him, only trust Him,
Only trust Him now.
He will save you, He will save you,
He will save you now.
