Psalm 6--O Lord, How Long?
David's prayer for healing

O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger,
or discipline me in your wrath.
Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am suffering;
O Lord, heal me, for my bones are shaking with terror.
The Lord has heard my plea;
the Lord accepts my prayer.
All my foes shall be ashamed and struck with terror;
they shall turn back, and in a moment be put to flight.

The real pandemic of the past 14 months is not viral.
It is spiritual, emotional, and psychological.
The stress has shown cracks in our nation and our world.
Depression is rampant.
Racial tensions are high.
Violence and murder rates are up.
The damage from this spiritual pandemic is not going away, and there is no vaccination that can heal the soul.
One thing the pandemic has shown is that we are all connected.
What happens in China or Russia or India or America effects us all.
So long as this spiritual pandemic effects one of us we are all in its web.
The good news is that we are all connected, and we know the One who CAN heal the soul.
When one of us turns to the Great Physician to find healing and hope, then the whole world is effected by that as well.
Today, bring all of your hurt and anxiety to the only One who can heal it.
Reach out to those who are still suffering--especially those who are angry.
God will heal us all of this spiritual pandemic--
One soul at a time.
