John 15: No Greater Love

My command is this:
Love each other as I have loved you.
There is no greater love than this:
To lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

The Covid era has created an epidemic of frustration and anxiety.
It has spilled over into acts of violence and anger.
From the Capitol building to city streets or the local grocery store, shocking stories of bloodshed just keep coming.
Those headlines can cause us to lose track of the fact that we are still surrounded by hometown heroes--ten thousand times ten thousands.
They are the ones who run into danger when others run away.
Some wear a uniform.
Some wear a stethoscope.
Some care for the abused.
Some shelter the homeless.
Some calm troubled minds.
They all put their lives on the line so others can live in peace.
There is no greater love than this.
