Friday Scripture: Psalm 108
Wake the Dawn!
----------------
My heart, O God, is confident;
I will sing and make music with all my soul.
Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.
I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.
----------------
Every morning, just before dawn, it starts. The birds start to rustle and peep a few tentative notes. As fingers of sunlight touch the tips of the trees, they burst into cacophonous symphony.
They aren't feeding. They aren't flying. They're all just singing for all they are worth!
Maybe they are trying to tell us something?
Wake the dawn! Shout for joy!
----------------
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
