Tuesday Scripture: Genesis 11
The State of Confusion
-----------------------
Then they said,
“Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves.
But the Lord said,
“Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”
So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.
That is why it was called Babel.
-----------------------
A friend of mine likes to say that there is no evidence that human beings can communicate.
If he needed to prove that in a court of law, he could enter the year 2020 as "Exhibit A."
I don't understand the news.
I don't understand the virus.
I don't understand you.
I don't even understand me.
The story of Babel talks about the roots of this state of confusion.
That confusion persisted until the day of Pentecost in Acts Chapter 2.
People of different ethnic heritage, speaking different languages, finally understood every word when the Apostles began telling about the love of God in Jesus Christ.
The language of love is still the only antidote to that state of confusion.
Look around you.
Today the world is going to get more confused and more angry about it.
Share God's mad, crazy, love wherever you go.
That's the only cure for the madness.
