I AM the Way

Let not your hearts be troubled.
You believe in God; believe also in me.
In my Father’s house there are many rooms;
if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
You know the way to the place where I am going.
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life."

It may be hard to believe, but human beings did not always have a GPS device in their pocket.
We had to rely on our own sense of direction... and sometimes that left something to be desired.
An explorer once hired a young boy to help him find a city hidden deep in the jungle.
After a few days of hard travel the explorer started getting nervous. He asked the boy, are you sure this is the way?
The boy laughed and said, "There is no WAY in this jungle."
"I AM the way! Follow me!"
When Jesus told them to follow, Thomas spoke the truth.
Nobody knew what Jesus was going to do next.
How were they supposed to know where to go?
Jesus said, "Thomas, there is no WAY through this world."
"I AM the way. Follow me!"
We're all looking for a way through this covid world of ours.
But it's an unknown jungle and there is no clear way.
We're having to rely on our own sense of direction, and it leaves a lot to be desired.
Now more than ever, let Jesus be your GPS. Follow him.
He IS the way.
