Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
A Cord of Three Strands
--------------
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
---------------
This is one of my all-time favorite passages.
God hasn't called you to go it alone.
In these tough times we need each other--
financially, spiritually, and emotionally.
Who can you lift up today?
How can you warm somebody's heart?
Lots of people feel overpowered,
But they don't have to feel they are alone.
You, a friend, and God form an unbreakable bond.
----------------
Lord, when I am lonely let me find someone I can help.
When I am down, let me lift somebody up.
When my friend is depressed and weary
Let me show they are never alone.
With you as the central cord, I know,
We will not be broken.
