Psalm 42 As the deer
--------
As the deer pants for streams of water
so my soul pants for you, my God
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God
Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God
for I will yet praise him
my Savior and my God

Blaise Pascal was a pioneer in the fields of mathematics, physics, and probability theory. In 1642 as a teenager he invented one of the first calculators in human history.
Two of his most famous quotes are still in common use.
First, "Nature abhors a vacuum."
And, "There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart which cannot be satisfied by any created thing but only by God the Creator, made known through Jesus Christ."
Our souls yearn for God--and nothing else can satisfy.
--------
As the deer pants for the water
So my soul longs after you
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship you
