Luke 8: The Cost of Healing
--------------------------
As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him.
And a woman was there who had been hemorrhaging for twelve years, but no one could heal her.
She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.”
But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me."
-------------------------
Healing is never easy.
Never cheap.
Healing has a cost.
There were many in that crowd who touched Jesus that day.
But when one came for healing, Jesus knew.
It cost him something.
As restrictions lift and the pandemic eases it would be easy to forget the price our healers have paid.
It hasn't been easy.
The more they care, the more it costs.
You have also paid a price over these past 15 months.
You need healing as never before.
Even God almighty cannot heal without paying a price.
And God loves you so much that He paid the ultimate price.
He gave his only begotten son--not to condemn--but to give life.
Pray for all who are paying the price today.
Pray for the healing of our land.
Pray for the healing of our world.
Pray for YOUR healing.
And remember the GOOD news:
God has already paid that cost.

What wondrous love is this,
O my soul, O my soul,
what wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul!
When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
when I was sinking down, sinking down;
when I was sinking down beneath God's righteous frown,
Christ laid aside his crown for my soul, for my soul,
Christ laid aside his crown for my soul!
To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing,
to God and to the Lamb, I will sing;
to God and to the Lamb, who is the great I AM,
while millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing,
while millions join the theme, I will sing!
And when from death I'm free, I'll sing on, I'll sing on,
and when from death I'm free, I'll sing on;
and when from death I'm free, I'll sing and joyful be,
and through eternity I'll sing on, I'll sing on,
and through eternity I'll sing on!
