The Cost of Healing
--------------------------
As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him.
And a woman was there who had been hemorrhaging for twelve years, but no one could heal her.
She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.”
But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me."
-------------------------
Healing is never easy.
Never cheap.
Healing has a cost.
There were many in that crowd who touched Jesus that day.
But when one came for healing, Jesus knew.
It cost him something.
There are many on the front lines of the covid battle today.
For them, there is no let up in sight.
They continue to give 100% to heal as many as they can.
And it isn't easy.
It isn't cheap.
The more they care, the more it costs.
Even God almighty cannot heal without paying a price.
But the world desperately needs to be healed.
God knows YOU need to be healed.
And God loves you so much that He paid the ultimate price.
He gave his only begotten son--not to condemn--but to give life.
As quarantine is lifted and restrictions are eased, we cannot pretend life will be unchanged.
You cannot forget how much you still need that healing.
This pandemic has shown us that we are all connected.
Just today, we learned that 1/3 of all Americans are suffering signs of clinical depression or anxiety.
Even if you don't work in the hospital, your heart is on the front lines.
This battle has cost you something.
Your healing won't be easy.
It won't be cheap.
But God is willing to pay the price.
Pray for all who are paying the price today.
Pray for the healing of our land.
Pray for the healing of our world.
Pray for YOUR healing.
And remember the GOOD news:
God has already paid that cost.

What wondrous love is this,
O my soul, O my soul,
what wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul!
When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
when I was sinking down, sinking down;
when I was sinking down beneath God's righteous frown,
Christ laid aside his crown for my soul, for my soul,
Christ laid aside his crown for my soul!
To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing,
to God and to the Lamb, I will sing;
to God and to the Lamb, who is the great I AM,
while millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing,
while millions join the theme, I will sing!
And when from death I'm free, I'll sing on, I'll sing on,
and when from death I'm free, I'll sing on;
and when from death I'm free, I'll sing and joyful be,
and through eternity I'll sing on, I'll sing on,
and through eternity I'll sing on!
