Wednesday Scripture and Prayer: 1 Peter 4
Surprise?
-----------------
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that is taking place among you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.
But rejoice insofar as you are sharing Christ's sufferings, so that you may also be glad and shout for joy when his glory is revealed.
-----------------
The worst thing about this pandemic is the uncertainty.
We don't know what will happen next.
We don't know how long it will last.
We don't know when we'll be back to normal, or what the new normal will look like.
When facing times of crisis, the human mind races ahead to all the "What ifs?"
Here's the thing:
Not even God almighty can handle everything you can think of that MIGHT happen.
But together, you and God can handle anything that DOES happen.
We don't know what the future will be, but we know what to do today.
Don't let this day's news surprise you.
You and God can handle it.
-----------------
Lord, I don't know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow.
Today, hold me in your everlasting arms.
Together, Lord, we're going to pass this test.
