Genesis 31: Keeping Watch
--------
That place was called Mizpah, [Watchtower] because he said,
“May the Lord keep watch between me and thee while we are apart."
--------
When Jacob and Laban said, "MIZPAH!" they weren't the best of friends. They were calling God to watch the boundary between them.
Over the years, friends and lovers found another meaning. When we are apart from those we love, God watches and protects--and fills in the gap between us.
God is the Watchtower for us. He keeps safe, and fills in the gap when we are stretched too far apart.
God is watching over you, and those you love--today. Mizpah.
