John 3: The heart of the Gospel

For God so loved <the world> that he gave his one and only Son, that <whoever believes in him> shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son to <the world> to condemn <the world>, but to save <the world> through him.

If I only had one one verse of the Bible, this would be it. The law, the prophets, all the writings--they all come down to this. The heart of it all is love.
God loves the world--that's true. But it's more personal than that. God thinks the world of YOU.
Read that scripture aloud. This time, where you see these brackets < >, insert your name. If you were the only one who ever accepted God's gift, it would have been enough. God would still have sent his only begotten Son for you.
That's the heart of the Gospel. God loves the world--and God loves YOU!
