John 1:5 Overcoming Darkness, part 2

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

When I was a child I thought the darkness had power to create dangers in every shadow.
Now I know the darkness has no power of its own.
It is only the absence of light.
Even as adults we often believe the darkness has power of its own--power to make this world a dangerous, hopeless place.
Don't you believe it.
The darkness can't overrun this world--not if you carry one single glimmer of hope.
You have the light of Christ.
That is all in the world we need.
