Let there be Light

In him was life, and that life was the light of all people.

In the beginning the darkness covered the face of the deep. This was not the kind of darkness you get by turning off the light. It's the darkness of despair and chaos. It's a darkness that comes from the soul and works its way into the world. It's a darkness that kills.
Christ brings light--the kind of light that starts at the soul and works its way out. It's a light that gives hope and faith and love. It's a light that cancels the chaos and gives reason for living.
Advent is our festival of light--but it's really not about the solstice. It's certainly not about the decorations. It's about a light that the world cannot give and the world cannot take away.
When you follow Christ, YOU bring a light into this dark and dreary world.
YOU carry a light that no one else can give.
