Thursday Devotion: Jonah 4
Doest Thou Well to be Angry?
-----------------------------
And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry?
And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.
-----------------------------
I'm with Jonah on this one.
When I get angry God always asks the same question.
Doest thou well to be angry?
And I always say, Yes I doest!
But psychologists tell us that anger is always a secondary emotion.
It always comes from fear.
So God always asks,
What are you afraid of, child?
And I always reply, I'll tell you when I get done being angry.
People are angry right now.
Angry at Demicans. Angry at Republicrats.
Angry about the virus. Angry about restrictions.
Angry at the police. Angry at the protestors.
Angry that everyone else is angry.
And we all feel we doest well to be angry.
But it all comes from fear.
The Bible has the answer.
The perfect love of Christ casts out all fear.
Today, more than ever, we doest well to share that love.
